Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Shop Fabricator to join our team. This position is responsible for the fabrication and/or installation of custom products made from sheet metal and roofing materials, along with the manufacturing of necessary components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of materials and tools and will play a key role in both shop and on-site fabrication.
Select materials according to blueprints and specifications
Measure and mark materials accurately
Drill, cut, bend, and fasten materials using hand and power tools
Install fabricated components with supportive frameworks
Fabricate or adjust parts on-site as needed
Maneuver, anchor, and secure large material components
Track material inventory and equipment location
Test and install materials in the field
Weld, bolt, rivet, or solder components as needed
May perform limited programming for automated equipment
Perform additional duties as assigned
Strong knowledge of sheet metal and roofing materials, including:
Asphalt shingles, tiles, solar shingles, metal shingles, slate, bitumen, membrane systems, vegetative roofs, etc.
Ability to operate automated machinery
Proficiency in interpreting technical blueprints and specifications
Strong math skills including basic algebra and geometry
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
High school diploma or equivalent required
Several years of relevant work experience preferred
Roofing experience is a strong plus
Able to move around work sites and work at heights
Physically capable of frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and lifting
Comfortable working in varied weather conditions
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Tolerance for noisy and dusty environments
